Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) classes online in Washington
A step-by-step cognitive behavioral program for insight, accountability and lasting change. Groups meet live on Zoom for participants anywhere in Washington State.
What is Moral Reconation Therapy?
Moral Reconation Therapy, usually called MRT, is a cognitive behavioral program that helps people look honestly at how they make decisions. “Reconation” refers to re-thinking the decisions and beliefs that shape behavior. MRT was developed in the 1980s and is now widely used by courts, probation departments and treatment programs.
How the MRT workbook steps work
Participants work through a series of structured MRT workbook steps. Each step includes exercises completed between sessions and then shared in the group. Moving to the next step depends on completing the work, so progress is visible and earned.
What MRT works on
- Honesty, trust and accountability
- Recognizing thinking patterns that lead to trouble
- Making decisions based on values rather than impulses
- Repairing relationships and setting goals
- Building a stronger sense of identity and purpose
Who MRT classes are for
MRT is a good fit for adults who want to change patterns of behavior, including people referred by a court, probation officer, employer or treatment program, and people who join voluntarily.
How online MRT groups run
Groups meet weekly, live on Zoom. Teresa is trained in MRT and facilitates each group in a structured, respectful and non-judgmental way. Group sessions are $50, payable securely online with Stripe.
